Please join us for a “wabi-sabi” mending workshop led by dosa’s Christina Kim. The practices of mending and “consuming less, cherishing more,“ were passed down to Christina from her grandmother and are at the heart of dosa’s design ethos. This mending workshop will explore this intersection of handwork and reuse through the East Asian philosophy of "wabi-sabi,” which celebrates the imperfections resulting from time, wear, and use. Christina will be sharing visible mending techniques that repair textiles while also calling attention to signs of wear.
Please remember to bring clothing or textiles with light wear to mend (woven fabrics and knits not recommended). Basic mending supplies will be provided.
Recommended for ages 14 and up
Fee: $20 (all proceeds will be donated to a local homeless organization)
