Come hang with ICA LA’s Artists in Residence over tea!
Join us as Hwa Records opens their artist-in-residence studio for an afternoon of tea, journaling about waste and venting, and conversation about the collective’s practice.
The event will also feature custom-made potions by Saewon Oh, 5-minute Korean oracle card readings by C. Ryu, and zines and merchandise by Kayla Tange, all available for purchase at the event.
The mission of Hwa Records is to create community spaces for diasporic Koreans to alleviate these stresses. Their team is composed of artists, musicians, and healers Roger Kim, Saewon Oh, Kayla Tange, and C. Ryu, that fulfill this mission through performance art and facilitated workshops that bring connection, group processing and dialogue in hopes of transforming diasporic challenges into collective joy and catharsis.
