Build your own musical instruments from store-bought materials and learn about the basic mechanics of sound in this workshop lead by artist Adrienne Adar. Cardboard, pipes, balloons, and other materials for construction will be provided, and Adar will share strategies for do-it-yourself sound creations. The workshop will culminate in a group music session, in which participants are encouraged to improvise with their new instruments. All are welcome to bring their own materials for audio invention!
Adrienne Adar is a Los Angeles-based artist working in photography, sound, and interactive installation. Inspired by natural forms and arrangements, Adar’s work addresses issues of visual and audio communication, and technology’s influence on our everyday sensory experiences.
