Join us for an Artist POV Tour of Scratching at the Moon with artist Candice Lin. Lin’s practice utilizes installation, drawing, video, and living materials and processes, such as mold, mushrooms, bacteria, fermentation, and stains.
Candice Lin (b. 1979, Concord, Massachusetts) received her BA in Visual Arts and Art Semiotics from Brown University, in 2001, and MFA in New Genres from San Francisco Art Institute, in 2004. Lin has had recent solo exhibitions at Canal Projects, New York (2023), Spike Island, Bristol, United Kingdom (2022), Walker Art Center, Minneapolis (2021), and the Times Museum, Guangzhou, China (2021). She is the recipient of several residencies, grants and fellowships including the inaugural Ruth Award (2024), the Anonymous Was a Woman Award (2023), Gold Art Prize (2021), the 6th Arnaldo Pomodoro Sculpture Prize (2021), and the Joan Mitchell Painters and Sculptors Grant (2019). She is Associate Professor of Art at UCLA and lives and works in Los Angeles.
