As part of Bookshelf Residency: Ooga Booga, we have a series of public programs inviting friends of the shop to present activities on site. On Saturday, March 9, meet the founders of Orange Radio and Gu Grocery who each provide forms of nourishment in the community—independent online radio and unique pantry items from China and Taiwan, respectively. This event marks the closing weekend of Kima Ten Years by Lauren Graycar in the Annex gallery. Come hear tunes, eat snacks, and hang out with us!
Orange Radio is an independent online radio station, broadcasting out of Alhambra, CA, focusing on amplifying the curious individuals who want to get on the airwaves. Since 2016, they have been a community focused platform with a sole intention to share and discover the sounds and perspectives from all walks of life.
Gu Grocery is a Chinese Taiwanese pop-up concept rooted in family recipes and traditional flavors, known for their savory picnic sets and large selection of mochi cakes and baked goods featuring fun, seasonal, and local Californian ingredients. Their new brick and mortar grocery and deli shop in Chinatown is scheduled to open Fall 2024.
