Join us at ICA LA for the Los Angeles premiere of Casey Jane Ellison’s newest talk show, MAD with Casey Jane Ellison: Mothers and Daughters. Your faithful host believes that the exploration of this often unspoken biological connection by mothers and daughters themselves, will free us all. The first episode of the DIS original series will premiere online on February 7 on DIS.ART, a streaming platform for entertainment and education.

MAD with Casey Jane Ellison: Mothers And Daughters is a funny, tense and honest talk show series, exclusively focused on the fraught relationship of mothers and their daughters. MAD asks us to think outside the narrative of the mother-daughter conflict we’ve been fed. The result is an interrogation of family and of legacy. How do two people, one of whom has created and given birth to the other, understand each other? In the three part series, Casey becomes more and more convinced that the continued, unending exploration of this underrepresented biological connection between mothers and daughters will free us all… But not in the way she expected.

“You’ve never seen mothers and daughters like this.” - Casey Jane Ellison, host of MAD with Casey Jane Ellison: Mothers and Daughters.

Casey Jane Ellison is a Lesbian Comedian and Lesbian Artist. She’s written, directed and starred in talk shows about art, money, mothers and daughters and other systems of hypocrisy. Her series, Touching the Art was produced by Ovation TV and UR$ with Casey Jane Ellison was produced by Red Bull Studios. She was a selected artist in the 2016 Berlin Biennial and the 2015 New Museum Triennial. She’s performed and shown work at MoMA PS1, Museum of Art and Design, MOCA, KW Institute, among other museums, galleries and theaters throughout the United States and Europe. She has been featured on PBS and NPR as well as in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, LA Times, the Guardian and more. Ellison will present her latest talk show, MAD with Casey Jane Ellison: Mothers And Daughters at La Casa Encendida in Madrid and will launch the series on Dis.Art, a new platform for art television. She’ll also perform in the upcoming 2018 Cleveland Triennial.
