INCOGNITO: Saturday, May 7 at 5pm PT (virtual) PRECOGNITO: Thursday, May 5 at 7pm (in-person)
Don’t miss this year’s INCOGNITO, the Institute of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles’s legendary benefit art sale, scheduled for Saturday, May 7. A beloved tradition, INCOGNITO is unique among museum fundraisers. Now in its 14th iteration, nearly 400 established and emerging artists will contribute 12 x 12 inch original works of art in any medium of their choosing. All works will be sold for only $500, and the artists remain anonymous, their identities only revealed after the purchase. INCOGNITO was created with a spirit of democracy, inclusivity, and fun. Guests are encouraged to use their eyes, follow their hearts, and trust their instincts to make their selections!
For the second time since 2020, INCOGNITO has been reimagined as a virtual event. The live broadcast will begin at 5pm PT on Saturday, May 7. The event will kick off with a 30-minute program featuring ICA LA staff, board members, artists, and special guests. After the program, the online art sale will open. All guests will be given access to the viewing room simultaneously and artworks will sell quickly! The sale will be open until 8pm PT.
If you would like to view the artworks in person and prepare in advance for the online sale during INCOGNITO, you can attend PRECOGNITO, a cocktail reception and preview taking place on Thursday, May 5, from 7-9pm at VIELMETTER LOS ANGELES. Your PRECOGNITO ticket purchase includes access to INCOGNITO.
All proceeds benefit ICA LA’s roster of dynamic exhibitions and Learning & Engagement programs—all of which are always free to the public.
Participating artists highlights: Tanya Aguiñiga, Edgar Arceneaux, Carmen Argote, Jamal Cyrus, Sharif Farrag, Charles Gaines, Liz Glynn, Sayre Gomez, Todd Gray, Lauren Halsey, EJ Hill, Alex Hubbard, Sharon Lockhart, Tala Madani, Harold Mendez, Yunhee Min, Cathy Opie, Laura Owens, Analia Saban, Lara Schnitger, Pae White, B. Wurtz + more!
