Cone of Power

Cone of Power is a live dance performance to activate the five sculptures of Lara Schnitger’s Warts and All, 2021. Ritualistic movement, incantation, and shadow play immerse the participants in a nether world of mystery, magic, and transformation.

Performers Raymond Ejiofor, Kat Chang, Augustine, Kenzie McClure, Maija Knapp represent the North, South, East, and West of our rich global community. They will converge at ICA LA to deliver a kinetic ritual of hope and protection.

Live sound created by folk/punk musician Cathy Cooper using text pulled from the sculptures will weave together an intimate aural soundscape around the movement, sound, and light to blur the line between live dancers and dancing sculptures.
