Los Angeles’s public media channel KCET kicks off their 11th season of Artbound. This original Emmy ® award-winning arts and culture series will release a television and online episode about CURRENT:LA FOOD—a 2019 public art triennial produced the City of Los Angeles’s Cultural Affairs Department and curated by ICA LA. We are honored to be featured in a beautiful public television episode and excited to revisit this project that involved over a hundred artists and engaged thousands of visitors of all ages city-wide.
From October 5 to November 3, 2019, the project CURRENT:LA FOOD involved 15 artists and 15 public programmers to create artwork and programs with the theme of art and food in 15 public parks located in 15 city council districts of the City of Los Angeles. In a partnership between the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs, Public Art Division and Institute of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles (ICA LA), this city-wide public art triennial offered nearly a 100 events throughout a month-long exhibition. Large-scale, originally-commissioned artworks were created by local and international artists. Public programs were designed to nourish audiences and spark dialogue about how we live together in Los Angeles and how food and art connects us to the world.
