Join ICA LA at lunchtime with Good Works Executive Director Anne Ellegood and gallerist Kristina Kite to view and discuss the rare archive footage of Ree Morton: An Interview. Kite’s graduate thesis about Morton was one of the early documents of research and writing about the artist.
In this online Zoom event, Ellegood and Kite will begin with an introductory chat followed by a screening of the film (TRT: 23mins) with a Q&A to close.
Anne Ellegood is the Good Works Executive Director of the Institute of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles (ICA LA). Prior to ICA LA, Anne was Senior Curator of the Hammer Museum.
Kristina Kite
While working in artist studios and emerging galleries around Los Angeles, Kristina received her MA in Art Theory and Curatorial Studies from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena and presented her masters thesis on Ree Morton. After graduating, she was a contributing writer for Artforum and an Associate Director at Regen Projects before opening her first gallery, Overduin and Kite, in Hollywood. With this program, Kristina introduced many now well-known artists to the international art world, as well as staged the first exhibitions of historical and contemporary artists who had never before exhibited in Los Angeles. With the opening of Kristina Kite Gallery in 2017, Kristina continues to introduce and exhibit the work of many significant artists working in Los Angeles today. Kristina is also a founding member of the Artists Acquisition Club, a group of artists, writers, and members of the LA art community who collectively purchase and gift significant artworks of influential yet often overlooked LA artists to major Los Angeles institutions.
