For an entire week of open hours (11am -7pm Wednesday - Friday & 11am - 6pm Saturday-Sunday) at Play Days: Wrong Edition at the ICA LA, Milan Del Vecchio & Jmy Kidd will be in residence with their FeltLOOM®, a 200 needle dry felting machine that punctures and scrambles fibers to bind together many kinds of fabrics making an entirely new felted fabric. Felt from wool is considered to be the oldest known textile. FeltLOOM® technology combines ancient and new processes in a process that can be described as “water-color collaging” with textiles.
To interact with the FeltLOOM®, we will be offering hands-on guidance to make your own functional or decorative mat / 2-dimensional fiber art pieces.
Mat making (limited to 2 people per time slot):
3–5pm & 5–7pm, Wednesday - Friday, January 8 - 10
Group workshop (limited to 5 people):
12–3pm, Saturday, January 11th
