Halloween is around the corner! Join author, illustrator, and maker Brian Yanish for a hands-on workshop to build a unique costume headpiece using recycled materials. Yanish is the founder of ScrapKins—an arts program that inspires kids to recycle and see the creative potential in everyday “junk.”

Brian Yanish is the artist and author of ScrapKins: Junk Re-Thunk (Macmillan 2016), The Build-It Book (Crackle Press 2011), and the forthcoming Pirate Chicken: All Hens on Deck (Sourcebooks 2019). He has worked for Jim Henson Productions; trained as a special effects mold maker; and designed software, toys, and apparel for children. As the creator of ScrapKins, Yanish has presented STEAM-based workshops to K-6 students in schools around the world and has appeared on Sesame Street.
