Kim MacConnel: Parrot Talk

Parrot Talk: A Retrospective of Works by Kim MacConnel - exquisitely organized and explicated by guest curator Michael Duncan - explores the artist’s particular sensibility and talent as well as the trajectory of inspiration his work has provided for succeeding generations. In a project that encompasses the MacConnel retrospective at the Santa Monica Museum of Art as well as concurrent exhibitions at five adjacent galleries in the Bergamot Station Art Complex, Parrot Talk addresses the richness of the Pattern and Decoration Movement that began in the early 1970s and its vicissitudes and reverberations in the art world of today.
