War on water: competition between leading drinks manufacturers catered to a demand of sugared beverages in the early Nineties. Their target audience were African Americans. Artist Maryam Jafri highlights a product release by sporting goods manufacturer, Spalding, who wanted a share of the market. Spalding’s spin off product was on shelves for only two years between 1993-95, citing the beverage to be too far removed from the parent #brand.
